1 day, 1hr and a few seconds.....

Just had to make a quick post to say........ 1 day, 1 hour and the seconds are counting down until we leave for this fantastic trip. Might not get a chance to update the blog tomorrow before we fly out, so if I don't, will post from Washington DC!!!!

I really can't believe where the months have flown since we all decided to do this epic trip and the planning started. That was over 200 sleeps ago! And its happening tomorrow!

Sure gonna miss my babies, (all of them, thats including you Dunky Doo!!). Philip is coming over to have a goodbye coffee with me in the morning. Shaughn will be going to school (college) so will have to say my goodbyes to him before he leaves and Duncan has the day off and will be taking me to the airport.

And then that's it - on our way. Ohhh dear, im tearing up thinking about the goodbyes now (yes, im a sook, ask my mum or sis!! haha, they are the same too!).

Meeting Janina at the Domestic Airport and im sure thats when the excitement and realisation will really kick in!

We hope to get a pass to go in the Koru Lounge and think they have wireless so we might be able to do our very first 'real' trip blog from there.

Anyway, better go, still at work, less than an hour to go and then need to go home and re think the suitcase yet again.

Deb, Sue, Karen (Venus), and the rest, sooooo wish you could have been coming with us and you will be in our thoughts and will upload as many videos and photo's for you all so you can feel like you are part of the trip.

Big Sis.... Lots of pics and videos for you too!! And censored ones for Mum!!!!! LOL.

This week!

Oh my goodness, its the actual week that we are leaving, only four more sleeps. Seems incredible and surreal. Starting to get all that sooky about leaving my 'boys' and know there will be a few tears on Friday but then know that once I get to that airport and see Janina at the Domestic Airport and we start heading our way over to the International, it will start becoming really real and exciting.

Started packing the suitcase yesterday, put clothes in, pulled clothes out, put shoes in, pulled shoes out. Guess that might happen until I zip it the final time before we leave for the airport!

So if I don't get a chance to update this blog before we start the adventure in four days time, be sure to check back here for all the updates and pictures and videos.

Urggghh, will I sleep again?? Note to self, leave notebook beside bed to write down all the things I remember during the night!!!!

11 sleeps to go, suitcase is out!

Woohoo, the suitcase is out and sitting on the spare bed ready to start packing! Janina ran her very first marathon on Saturday (well done girlfriend) and she and partner, Dave, came and stayed the Sunday and night with us. She did so awesome, but was very sore the day after and we were real meanies, made her walk around the base of the Mount (Mount Manganui). Promised her a nice wine after it and we all had to walk off our nice big breakfast/brunch.

Anyway, 11 days to go. And after the scare in Times Square last night, New York is probably one of the most safest cities to visit now lol. Bit of a scare tho.

Okay, off to pack some of the summer clothes that I have packed away cos its starting to feel like autumn here now. Brrrh down to 20degc today but feels colder!

A message from Shaughn.........

LOL. I was playing with my new video recorder and wondering what to do to see how I can check to see how easy it would be for me to take a video and upload video from my new video camera here on the blog for when we are away videoing everything and my youngest lovely son Shaughn said he would send you girls a message so here it is.

Ohh well, its uploaded so hope it works. If it is this easy, that will make things so good to be able to upload when we are on our adventures.

Enough from me, its a lovely Saturday afternoon and hubby is wanting to go out and about.

Hope you can understand Shaughn, lol, we find it hard at times too! Typical 17 year old! He was a doll to do this and don't listen to him!!!!!!!! I can handle more than two glasses!!!

We have had some tshirts printed to wear at the concerts etc! A few of you wanted to see what the designs were. Have to shout out a real big thanks to Natalie who designed them with lots of input from everyone.

Easter Monday - Wow! Only 39 days left to go!

Happy Easter Monday everyone. The sun is shining and its really quite warm still here, in fact really quite humid. This summer is going on and on. Desperately in need of rain still tho! Hasn't rained for months.

Can't believe that we only have 39 days to go!! Yes!!! 39 days, thats all!

Can't just post something without a pretty picture. Took this at the top of Mount Maunganui looking down onto where we live. The first stretch of beach on the left is Mt Maunganui main beach and then it goes into Papamoa Beach. We live about half way along. Gives you a idea of where we live.

Happy Easter everyone! Its Good Friday here and typical NZ, all the shops are closed by law and not allowed to open so its off to the Beach for a walk in the fresh air! Only 42 days to go!! Amazing how the time has gone so fast. Especially as we started the countdown at 200 days and that didn't seem that long ago.
